Greetings, Delegates. I noticed on the public section of the board that the ADN has pulled out of these proposed ideas. That's very unfortunate, however, I don't think the public section of the forum is the proper place to have a debate about this. So I'm bringing it here.
What EXACTLY does the ADN want out of this accord? I can tell you with certainty that unless the ADN accepts the accord, my organization, the GRD, will not. I will not allow a group as small as my own to abide by rules that the largest alliance on NationStates won't.
So, what is the span of this gap and how can we bridge it?

The ADN rejected the matter wholesale, Gamia. The explanation offered by their Delegate is that they believe the terms of the GS Accord will not make raiderplay more simple; to the contrary, they believe it will make this practice more complicated and difficult to monitor. They also believed that the NS-mods will not enforce the GS Accord.
Frankly, I don't understand their reasoning or the logic that led to the conclusions. The ADN is subjegating the players in NS to the whim of the NS-mods, and that is most unfortunate. The ADN will continue to comply with whatever rules are set out in NS.
As far as WAR is concerned, we will comply with the terms of the GS Accord as stated. The EAA has expressed its acceptance, and TITO has expressed support for all provisions except the espionage and violation report provisions (they are waiting for further information about NSI' services before deciding on the latter GS Accord provision.)
Finally, I would respectfully recommend that the GRD make its decision independent of the ADN. If you believe the terms of the GS Accord to be beneficial to your alliance, then adopt it. If you believe the Accord to be detrimental, reject it. Whatever your decision, please base it on your alliance's own interests and goals---not those of an alliance which, frankly, had no intention of adopting any agreement that may have arisen from the GS Summit. I don't mean to sound harsh towards the ADN, but for them to suggest that the players are beholden to the mods in this regard has had a substantial impact on the degree of respect I once held for this organization. That is my personal opinion, though, and not that of WAR or IAN.

A wise point. Regardless, if the current proposal that Blackbird has suggested is accepted, the GRD will never sign. The issue 2 is idiotic.
